Have you ever contemplated why love is sometimes fleeting? Why is it is often easier to get into a relationship and so difficult to make it last? Love is sustenance for human existence yet making sense of it is something we all grapple to understand. In love, we sometimes become someone we don’t even recognize. Often desperate, withdrawn or rejecting about the connection we want the most. Before we know it, what brought us immense pleasure has turned into pain. We may blame the other, but deep down we feel more unlovable when our relationships prove to be different than expected. The film, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It,’ provokes a self-exploration. It is an investigation about how we become who we are, particularly as it relates to our ability and desire to love another human being, including self-love. It contemplates the trajectory of love from a scientific, psychological and spiritual view using experts who circle all aspects of existence for the purpose of making sense of our lives, especially areas of life not often considered. It also includes the perspective the layperson, like us, searching to be more aware. The more we realize who we are intimacy is untroubled and natural. The catchy title says it all because love has everything to do with living. |
