In 0.5 km2 North the birth of a new memory is the centre of the story. The film starts with New Years Eve, for the last time a new year is rung in and celebrated, whereupon slow but certainly people leave and life disappears on till only the bald skeleton of the building remains. After 50 years of faithful service and a lot of memories to happy and less happy moments of people who have lived there, the flats are sacked and are replaced by something new. The buildings receive a voice by texts, which appear on the walls. The inhabitants form a living component of the flat, the blood in its veins. They will, after the flat has been bled out, take their memories of the flat and bring them to there new living space. |
