This is a dramatization of the well known Emily Dickinson poem: Because I Could Not Stop For Death. The poem explains the struggle Dickinson had with transitioning into her next stage of life. She wrote this, believing that since she was not prepared to die, Death would wait for her to be ready. This short film brings her poem to life, the way we depicted it to be. The second poem in this short was written by the director, Katie Evans. It was made to better explain her postmortem view on how her private poems went public, due to the fact her sisters sold them after she died. |
