This is B-film thriller from the UK which was directed by an American and the female lead is American. It was quite common in those days to have Americans playing in British films. Therefore, some oversight how you can lose your British accent after spending a few years at a University in California as the young heroine returns to her evil stepmother in the UK. The main reason for seeing the film is Jean Kent playing that evil role with aplomb. Otherwise trying to be like a Hitchcock film but never achieving it. Still always nice to see a small village in Old England from 1950’s. I think the copyright of the film has expired and no studio company has made a DVD but will take it down if I am mistaken. …...more
