Rat Pack stuff for him. He's a total bastard here, a sniveling failure who disgraces his war experience for cold hard cash. Nice to see Sterling Hayden in a heroic role for a change; he got typecast as too many psychos over the years. Wild seeing the voice of Boris Badinov as one of Sinatra's cronies. The bratty/spunky boy Pidge (Kim Charney) is now a surgeon in real life. There's one standout scene of violence involving the machine gun that must have influenced later action directors.
