A group of astronauts travels to one of Jupiter's moons where they encounter a dying civilization largely composed of women ("fire maidens"). While there they must face a monster that threatens to wipe out the women and what remains of their civilization. A British production, it is pat of the "women in space colonies" subgenre that was popular amount low budget productions of the time, such as Cat-Women of the Moon and Queen of Outer Space. Largely panned by critics at the time it has since become regarded as one of the worst science fiction movies in film history and was memorably riffed by the tv show Mystery Science Theatre 3000 in 1992.
