(Love and Sacrifice)
In Lexington, Mass., in the mid-1770s, British renegade officer Capt. Walter Butler (Lionel Barrymore) struggles to enlist the aid of Indians against the tide of colonists rebelling for independence. Meanwhile, impoverished farmer Nathan Holden (Neil Hamilton), who is in love with aristocrat Nancy Montague (Carol Dempster), reluctantly joins the Patriots -- only to find himself eventually battling Nancy's stern father, Justice Montague (Erville Alderson), and arrogant brother, Charles.
