Colonel Pete Moore (Glenn Ford) is commander of the Whitney Radar Test Group, which has been experiencing electrical difficulties aboard its aircraft. To ferret out the problem, he sends a four-man crew on Flight 412. Shortly into the test, the jet picks up three blips on radar, and subsequently, two fighters scramble and mysteriously disappear. At this point, Flight 412 is monitored and forced to land by Digger Control, a top-level, military intelligence group that debunks UFO information. The intrepid colonel, kept in the dark about his crew, decides to investigate the matter himself.

Yes,those days people were taught to think for themselves, unlike these cell-phone-brain-times.It also shows a humiliating truth;the military and govt.
...
are cowards, afraid to investigate & protect their own air-force men.Military are rewarded for denying the truth.-They are too chicken-s--- to face it.-So who ARE the real MEN,after all? Truth is, Nazis and Dictators are most commonly ruling the planet, and homo sapiens is NOT a very valuable creature.Don't feel badly if Climate Change eventually makes mankind extinct.-- Universe won't be missing much. But the wildlife, everywhere and flora are the most wonderful-I personally don't believe UFO are "alien,"I suspect other countries have "Secrets."Why not?We don't even know what our OWN country does! DO WE?--Alltogether, great, well made, written, acted film. :)

Overall good film I was always a fan of Glen Ford. When timely message for when it was made in the ‘70’s. The Majority of middle class Americans were

just waking up to the reality of Gov’t coverups & disinformation. Now in the 21st century we take it for Granted.
And remember it wasn’t so long before that Daniel Ellsberg broke the Pentagon papers open . PS We still haven’t rec’d the Mueller report

direction and set locations outstanding. This from a reviewer who was in the Air Force at the time this film was made. Sort of a 1974 Men in Black in some respects, or perhaps a predecessor to the need for the formation of MUFON. Five stars all the way!

I'm with Dan170! Movies from that era are memorable for some of us who grew up in that time and there is not a thing wrong or boring with this film. The

reason why everything is so slow for some is that some of you were born during a time where you became so absorbed with what is done for you. Those who grew up during this time were taught to read and concentrate and to think for yourselves. EVerything today is CGI and this is as phony as you can get. It takes a solid deal of imagination to develop a story and to produce a film. So there are some who appreciate what there was and others who long for the films of that time which produced the imagination we have today. three thumbs up for this one and for Dan170!

This may be classified as science fiction, but it was really a documentary. It shows how our government is covering up the UFO phenomenon. In 1974 of course,

UFO's, like area 51, did not exist.
It's rather slow and can be a little boring, but what do you expect of 1974 mindset, and technology.
And Hollywood did not get it all correct.... you don't set pressurization for 3000 ft. It's done automatically, and you don't require it under 10,000 feet! But all in all, it is an interesting
